A ‘corps pur’ represents – in French – a substance made of only one chemical species. The material is, by definition, composed with only one type of atom and not the result of a mix.

CORPS PUR, the new experimentalo-fi alias of Gaspard Gigon, also known as Gaspard de la Montagne, is characterized by the very essence of this straightforward approach. After releasing several EPs on labels, such as Creaked Record or Sbire, the artist from La Chaux-de-Fonds took a new analogic adventure, made of distorted sonorities.

If the artist name may reveal an ounce of candor, the gritty and dark sounds basis immediately take the listener to another reality, all in beaten iron.

With a minimalist setup, CORPS PUR gets away from the universe we know him and dives into a spectrum where intuition and improvisation take a place of honor. Unstructured compositions with saturated synthesizers and drum machines emanate from this particular spectrum.
